Located on the northern slopes of the Vanoise massif and set in the commune of Bourg-Saint-Maurice, Arc 1600 was the first village resort of Les Arcs to be established. Originally named Arc Pierre Blanche, it opened in 1968. It gives access to all the other villages of the resort: Arc 1800, Arc 1950 and Arc 2000.
Ski area focus
Since 1968, the resort has been charming skiers and snowboarders. Its Paradiski ski area, gives access to nearly 425 kilometres of slopes or 14,390 hectares of skiable terrain. This expanse has something for every type of skier to thrive, from the beginner to the most experienced, from the youngest to the oldest. Paradiski links the resorts of La Plagne, Les Arcs, Peisey-Vallandry, Villaroger, Montchavin, Les Coches, Montalbert and Champagny-en-Vanoise. With its 130 lifts, visitors can explore every inch of the area and access three boardercrosses, two snowparks and a half-pipe (located in La Plagne). Cross-country skiers are not forgotten with 153 kilometres of trails leading to landscapes each more beautiful than the last.
Les Arcs is linked to La Plagne by the Vanoise Express cable car, allowing you to explore the other Tarentaise resort in a matter of minutes.
For those who don't want to use the Paradiski pass, Les Arcs gives access to 210 kilometres of slopes with its Les Arcs/Peisey-Vallandry domain. The delightful snow of Les Arcs is available to everyone, as you descend one of the 107 runs available. Les Arcs not only has a snowpark accessible via Arc 1600 but also a waterslide, available from March depending on the weather. The Les Arcs domain offers plenty of different activities, especially for the little ones.
In addition to skiing, you may try snowshoeing, dog sledding or take the cable car up to the Aiguille Rouge, the highest point of Les Arcs at 3,226 meters. You can also explore the architecture of Les Arcs, shaped by some great names. Indoor activities are also available to all, such as bowling and laser tag. For the party people, try the Folie Douce and enjoy DJ sets on the slopes.
