Nestled in the north of the Vanoise massif, in the commune of Bourg-Saint-Maurice, Arc 1950 forms part, along with Arc 1600, Arc 1800 and Arc 2000, of the group of resorts known as Les Arcs. Arc 1950 was inaugurated in 2003 and was the last village to be built. It is located at an altitude of 2,000 metres at the intersection of the three other villages. It is connected to the La Plagne resort by the Vanoise Express cable car. Arc 1950 is located directly on the slopes and gives access to the Paradiski area.
Ski area focus
Paradiski is a large ski area with 425 kilometres of pistes, or 14,390 hectares of skiable terrain. It is composed of La Plagne, Les Arcs, Peisey-Vallandry, Villaroger, Montchavin, Les Coches, Montalbert and Champagny-en-Vanoise. The area is extensive, and allows everyone to practice at their own pace, beginners will find introductory areas and green and blue slopes perfect for making progress. The red and black slopes will provide thrills for the experienced. The area includes three boardercrosses, two snowparks and a half-pipe. Paradiski is the perfect playground for every skier, snowboarder and even cross-country skier, everything is fun and enjoyable.
Les Arcs provides access to 210 kilometres of pistes, of the 425 of Paradiski. The domain of Les Arcs/Peisey-Vallandry, is more than enough to enjoy the snow of the 107 runs that make it up. A snowpark and a waterslide are accessible from Arc 1600. Cross-country skiing is also given prided of place with 68 kilometres of trails. Plenty of off-slope activities are available in Les Arcs.
