The resort is located in the Massif du Sancy, in the heart of the Massif Central and right in the middle of the Auvergne volcanoes. A "Famille Plus" certified resort, le Mont-Dore is one of the oldest French ski resorts. With a minimum altitude of 1200 metres and rising to a high point of 1840 metres, the resort is relatively low but offers many activities for the whole family to compensate.

Le Mont-Dore has a 41 kilometre ski area with 32 different ski runs:

• 17 green runs

• 10 blue runs

• 4 red run

• 1 black run

A total of 20 lifts serve the skiing area: two cable cars, two chairlifts and 16 ski lifts. There are 81 on-site snow cannons that provide an additional 10 hectares of slopes. The resort also has its own Snow Park with independent ski lift, set of bowls and structures connected by a course to let you practice your best moves - tables, hips, curls, big-airs. Note also that the ski area extends a further 85 km thanks to the connection to the SuperBesse resort.

To make things easier while you’re in the resort, several free shuttle services are available between downtown Mont-Dore and the resort to help you get around without having to take the car.



By car: 45 minutes from Clermont-Ferrand, 2 hours from Limoges, 2h30 from Lyon.

By plane: Clermont-Ferrand airport is the best airport to fly to.

By train: Stop at Clermont-Ferrand station and take the SNCF coach to le Mont Dore station.

By bus: Connections are available between Clermont-Ferrand station and le Mont Dore resort.
