Ski rental Mont Dore
Planning to go to the Sancy mountains this year for your winter sports holiday? You should consider le Mont Dore. Simply head to our GO Sport Montagne website to book your ski rentals in advance, so you can travel with complete peace of mind.
The resort is located in the Massif du Sancy, in the heart of the Massif Central and right in the middle of the Auvergne volcanoes. A "Famille Plus" certified resort, le Mont-Dore is one of the oldest French ski resorts. With a minimum altitude of 1200 metres and rising to a high point of 1840 metres, the resort is relatively low but offers many activities for the whole family to compensate.
Ski area focus
Le Mont-Dore has a 41 kilometre ski area with 32 different ski runs: 1 black run, 4 red runs, 10 blue runs and 17 green runs.
A total of 20 lifts serve the skiing area: two cable cars, two chairlifts and 16 ski lifts. There are 81 on-site snow cannons that provide an additional 10 hectares of slopes. The resort also has its own Snow Park with independent ski lift, set of bowls and structures connected by a course to let you practice your best moves - tables, hips, curls, big-airs. Note also that the ski area extends a further 85 km thanks to the connection to the SuperBesse resort.
To make things easier while you’re in the resort, several free shuttle services are available between downtown Mont-Dore and the resort to help you get around without having to take the car.
Sled dogs, toboggans, freerides, snowboarding, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and fatbiking – it’s all possible at le Mont Dore resort. This wide range of activities provides a nice alternative to simply skiing, which is great if your muscles need a little break or you’re not a natural skier.
Fantasy luge: the whole family can slide down three kilometres of thrilling courses that descend 500 metres in altitude – you just have to have prior experience of the luge.
Airboard: this body snowboard offers guaranteed unique thrills, lasting one hour per session.
Snowscoot: The snowscoot is like a BMX designed for snow. Open to all ages, the snowscoot poses no health risks. While here, why not treat yourself to a one-hour snowscoot induction with Stéphane Courtial – the world downhill champion?
Fatbike: The fatbike is a bike with oversized wheels, specifically designed for riding on snow and desert sand. Ride down the snowy volcanic slopes of le Mont Dore for a completely new downhill experience!
Do you want to try your hand at something new this year? Le Mont-Dore resort, thanks to its geography and volcanic constitution, provides many exciting off-piste activities. The daring among us can choose to climb an ice wall and even go ice diving to explore stunning under-ice scenery – a totally different winter sports activity.
Le Mont-Dore resort also has an on-site spa, letting you relax after a fulfilling day on the snow. Lose yourself as you unwind in the hot spa baths then pamper yourself in the wellness area.
